Spider man is one of the most beloved comic book characters of all time. He could be seen in various media – television, newspapers and comic books. His likeness also appears from anything from lunch boxes to t-shirts to watches. He has also top billed three blockbuster films. In short, Spider man is a huge commercial success. Spider man was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy # 15. This was a bold move on the part of Marvel since teenage superheroes were merely relegated to being sidekicks to established super heroes. As of now, Spider man has starred in many comic book series such as:Amazing Fantasy, The Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel Team-Up, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, Peter Parker: Spider-Man, The Sensational Spider-Man, Spider-Man''s Tangled Web, The Sensational Spider-Man(vol.2),Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,Ultimate Spider-Man Marvel Adventures, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099,  Spider-Girl,  Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane and Spidey Super Stories. He has also appeared in several television series namely Spider-Man (1967),  Spidey Super Stories (1974, live action), Amazing Spider-Man (1978, live action) · Supaidāman (1978, Japanese) Spider-Man (1981), Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (1981), Spider-Man (1994),  Spider-Man Unlimited (1999), Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (2003) and  The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008).

The premise of Spider man revolves around whizkid Peter Parker getting bitten by a radioactive spider and getting superhuman abilities such as super strength, the ability to climb walls and spider sense. At first he decided to profit from his newfound powers but upon the death of Uncle Ben learned that with great power comes great responsibility. He has then dedicated his live to fight crime and protect the very people he cares about most.

What make people relate to Spider man more than to any other super hero is that he is flawed. He isn’t the ideal hero but he tries to be. He tries to always do what is right. But things aren’t always as they seem.
