Bibliography, and order
information given. The author, Dr. Kendris is a professor of French, and Spanish. This
dictionary
contains 501 fully
conjugated Spanish verbs in all tenses arranged alphabetically. It defines the tenses, and also has a section for verbs used in idiomatic expressions. It also has a section for popular phrases, words, and expressions for tourists traveling in Spanish speaking countries. It has a great index of English to Spanish verbs that can be used for quick reference. I love Dr. Kendris' definitions of basic grammatical terms. Obviously, the book was written for the English speaking high school, or college student attempting to learn Spanish, but it has occurred to me that a indigenous Spanish speaker could use this book. It can be used by a Spanish speaker trying to learn English as a second language, and by the Spanish speaker learning how to write well in his own first language. The only thing it is missing is the corresponding English verb that could be conjugated along side its Spanish counterpart. This book is easiest to use by the student who is fluent in his native English. He/she would need to know the grammatical terms for verb tenses, and the English tenses of the verbs in his/her own language. I have always believed that the process of learning a second language brings out one's own lack of knowledge about your own first language. Learning Spanish can give you a better command of your own first language, English.
