Today I have chosen to write summary about a book published in 1991. The title of the book is Islamic Military Resurgence and is written by one Mr. Abdul Rahman Bilal. The book is about military and contains detailed information about Islamic militaries. The book is published by Ferozsons Private Limited, Pakistan and is printed by All Majeed Printers, Pakistan. The writer of the book is an army officer of Pakistan army and contains assistance from other Islamic army officers. After reading the book it is evident that the author has good understanding of the topic he is writing about and has studies the Middle East and Africa thoroughly.
The most striking feature of the book is the concept of joint Islamic defense. The book gives a detailed layout of the proposed joint Islamic defense.
Although the book is bit outdated because after books publishing a number of events have occurred that have changed military potential of some Islamic countries however still the concept is a valid one and in fact even the more necessary.
The book also has different tables, which provides good information about Islamic countries especially about their population, Muslim Majority areas in non-Muslim countries, Muslims in non Muslim countries, Economic and Military profiles of Muslim countries, mineral, agricultural and fossil fuel resources. The book also contains information about Islamic countries manpower, scientist and researchers database as of 1991.
The book also includes maps illustrating Islamic expansion, crusades and the Mongols, sixteenth century powers, Russian invasion of Afghanistan, major Muslim minority concentrations in the world, the Muslim map, different sea routes, major world air routes and sea lanes, possible Islamic forces and the emerging power cores in the twenty first century.
I shall strongly recommend readers and specially those who have interest in defense to buy this book. In short it is a good book and defense enthusiasts would find it a book worth reading.
