influenced by the scientists, Reuter’s interest went

towards the telegraphy.

His interest later diverted towards news reporting and

bought pigeons. He took a businessman along with him

who knew all about the share market. Reuter used these

pigeons to exchange News from this businessman who

worked at the Brussels stock exchange. He and his wife

then accumulated this news and

sold it, 3 hours before the local mail came.

through cables .

And his popularity reached a new level…….

By now a number of people had subscribed to the news

papers given by Reuter.

At this time the American civil war broke out. His

reporters at New York gave him the full report of the

incidents……

money than Reuter could supply so the company's

shares were sold to meet with the requirements.

Reuter was given the title of baron by the duke of Saxe-

Coburg-Gotha.
