These are the languages spoken in this continent before the Spanish invasion in 1519. The majority still is spoken currently, although the decline. The Uto-Aztec family included the comanche, hopi and Aztec languages and extends from Mexico to the west of EUA. The Aztec is the main language spoken by 1 million of people.The pre-Columbian civilizations of this region possessed verbal literature and they practically did not use the writing, except the Mayan writing, that until today, was not satisfactorily deciphered.
