A New Earth

Book Review   by:BrianMcNary     Original Author: Eckhart Tolle

This is a powerful book. The author, Tolle, describes the human ego. The definition of who you are, self.

As your ego struggles to keep it's identity, it's uniqueness, it imparts conflict and damage on others. This book deals with all of that damage. The ego causes endless wanting and greed. It wants to rationalize, justify, be better than others. In so doing, it perpetuates a cycle of conflict that never ends. A cycle of conflict that can only be broken when an individual realizes, consciously, that the ego is truly the root of all that is bad within ourselves.

The book talks of pain bodies, in essence our memories of things gone bad and the ego's struggle to remember, dwell on them, make them right. In the end, spiritual awakening is the goal, taking steps to eliminate stress and gain enthusiasm.

This is a fairly hard read. It takes time to digest and understand the concepts- but it is well worth it if you want to become a better and emotionally free human being. I highly recommend this book in audio although I have it in book form also. It is the essence of spirituality and you will undoubtedly see yourself and others in these pages.
