Please, be happy

Book Review   by:negra     Original Author: Andrew Mathews

We all need to read this book, ones much more than others , even those ones that already are happy. I was happy but as my live went on i became more and more racional or realistic (generally understood like that). When making my plans, I took more and more into account the chances of failure and did alternative plans. I believe this is ussual among us, the latines, so you will be happy to know that my plans were worst every time (tough I better not bore you with long stories) Other people are not so analitic but make other mistakes - Follow their emotions (fear and anger above them all) instead of their intuition, needless to say reasoning - being afraid and unable to trust at all time. To unkown your own responsability with the excuse that others control our lifes: the government, our boses, the way we were brought up, economy, etc. Is necessary to think in probabilities when we do ingeneering or cientific projects but when it involves our life we sould not do it that much, nor follow any of the prompts mentioned before, which is one of this book´s base Please, be Happy. Something that will be very difficult for a lot of people is the fact that this book does not follow logics or ordinary cience. The author Andrew Matthews (AM) makes, among others, this statements - You are treated the way you treat yourself and you get from life what you really expect.
-Your thoughts become real and attract people, things or events YOU are what you think. - When you truly commit is when the universe opens its doors for you to achieve your goals. All I can say is that I have seen in my own life and in others, evidence of AM statements. He is right in criticizing the popular idea that being pesimistic equals being realistic or rational, they are wrong. So what´s wrong with science? AM gives his own version to which I disagree (I studied Chemistry, BS and MS), tough it´s enough to say that science is still very restricted, it is not a panacea yet. What really matters is that we do what works, as AM says. He uses a lot of examples of our daily lifes which we do unconciously or without thinking at all. However, we don´t need to understand anything to achieve our daily activities we take for granted such as walk. So this book is useful, to almost everyone and has to be re-read from time to time.
