Dancing in the Dark - A Cultural History of the Great Depression

Book Review by: SM THOMPSON

Original Author: Morris Dickstein
California Review creates a magical interlude of the Great Depression and features on a writer .... Morris Dickstein whose
book ..  "Dancing in The Dark - A Cultural History of the Great Depression" reminds me of those days working for the American Computer Giant in the 1960s long after the Great Depression has gone when my top boss would finish each and every day with the line
"Keep the Faith lady""
However, this writer refers to the  broadcasts on American radio by President Roosevelt as a morale booster in America  - fireside chat.  And refers affectionately to the weekly trips to the Movie Houses in America to keep the spirits up and all things bright and beautiful .. sounds like a good read .. nice work!
