Wolf Hall

Book Review by: ashishdimri

Original Author: Hilary Mantel
Wolf Hall
Wolf Hall is acclaimed for two reasons-(a) booker prize and (b) Olive Cromwell, its  subject
This historic
novel set in 1920’s depict rise  and fall of  a  remarkable English statesman Thomas Crowell. Its author, Hilary Mantel spent nearly two  decades  in research  on her famous  subject. She  depicts many interesting  facts in her novel. For example, Cromwell was  hardly liked by his father. Cromwell learnt his political  ropes as a trader. His interaction with  European merchants made him understand the intricacies of politics. He soon  gained favor of nobles. Soon, he  achieved  a  formidable position  in English  court.
However, he also faced many  detractors who were not willing to accept his  power.
Mantel has beautifully depicted  court intrigues in Henry  eighth’s court!.
Wolf Hall can not described in few lines. It is  advisable to read through it.
All said and done, it really deserved  Booker Prize!
