Hilary Mantel spent nearly two decades in research on her famous subject. She depicts many interesting facts in her novel. For example, Cromwell was hardly liked by his father. Cromwell learnt his political ropes as a trader. His interaction with European merchants made him understand the intricacies of politics. He soon gained favor of nobles. Soon, he achieved a formidable position in English court.
However, he also faced many detractors who were not willing to accept his power.
Mantel has beautifully depicted court intrigues in Henry eighth’s court!.

All said and done, it really deserved Booker Prize!
