Book Review by: SM THOMPSON

Original Author: Reference Only/many authors:
I was in Vienna Airport several years ago and my son had just said "goodbye" and gone off home to his villa in Vienna:
An old guy of about 90 turned up at my seat and
started chatting me up ... well I was both flattered and annoyed.  His wife was with him, and I guess it looked like he was travelling back on the London flight with me.... or was he a secret reader of my poetry ... anyway like all ladies of the theatre, I moved about the airport at great speed and shook him off .. I later discovered he was incredibly famous as a Physicist and a great man of letters ... my goodness! you never know who you bump into these days ... look out! It could be your next employer!
Today I picked up a book on the same subject ... science and physics and I was interested in the language applied to that discipline  ... for example  /controllable quantum phase/
coupled with /the world in chaos/ always poetically applied by the writer who is myself no doubt ...
/Modified morphology/ /percolation/ almost sounds like the coffee maker doing its job but on a more serious note as follows ..
Consider the /Heterogeneity of structural relaxation in a particle - suspension sytem/
well I had touched on Structuralism and Post Structuralism in Literature Class but this combination of words intrigues me ... I would guess right that its concerned
with a theatre metaphor of /suspension in time/ your time and mine ... but its all so beautifully orchestrated that I have no complaints about the lining and linking up of the words on the page.
The names are listed in the Volume and I gathered two as follows:
Xiaorong Wang
and Christopher G. Robertson
and then to top it all /loss of entrophy/ do you feel a bit low about
5 pm in the afternoon at your lowest ebb ... have a cup of tea.  I make
light work of it all but I am intrigued by the scientific world and the
language that they use ... sometimes its threatening and therefore to
be avoided, at other times it downright murderous and should be
"policed" but at present its poetically flowing and I engage with it.
Scientific stuff creates scientific sentences .... exciting stuff in this volume and I include another writer vis. Jarzynski/ and his modernistic language ref: /equation/
all congratulations to all those authors in this journal ... keep on reading the
abstracts ... great stuff!
Today I received a blog from President Clinton about his journey through Africa on his charity campaign to fight AIDS/HIV diseases in African people/Bill Clinton has written a great blog and in it he describes his excitement at meeting these people ... its an ideal opportunity to wish him well since I spent today in Southampton University Library researching Science/Popular views ... a little of what you fancy does you good!
