Turn to Jesus William had long believed that Christians were weak people who needed a crutch
to get through life. He was a self-made millionaire, having put himself through college and law school, eventually becoming a full partner with a high-profile law firm. When he retired, he had wealth that most people only dream about. He also had a devoted wife, four successful adult children, and seven grandchildren, whom he doted upon.
Yet, one sultry afternoon, Ashley, his eight-year-old grand-daughter, asked William if he had Jesus in his
heart. When he said he didn''t, Ashley pleaded with him to invite Jesus into his heart because she wanted him to be in heaven when she got there.
William''s body was not as strong and robust as it had been most of his life; he could feel piercing aches in different parts of his body. Worst of all, he felt tired most of the time. Recently, he had questioned whether all his possessions and accomplishments had really given his life meaning and value. The more he struggled with this
question, the more he knew that they had not.
Now Ashley''s question and pleading made William feel even more lost. With tears in his eyes, he turned to Ashley and saw the light in her loving eyes to light his way. She took his hand in hers, and he prayed for Jesus to come into his heart. He turned to the Lord, and the Lord welcomed him with open arms.
William was right all along: Christians are weak. What he didn''t realize until he receive Jesus as his God and Savior is that everyone is weak, including himself. We all need Jesus.
