Who is God?
Countless people have asked this over the years. Do you want to know as well? Who indeed is God? Open your heart and begin to read, with this prayer:
"Open my eyes, O Eternal Creator, and show me Your Truth. I acknowledge I am in need of a Teacher, the One Who truly knows. I now read, yearning to know Who You Are, from Your Revelation to humankind."
PRAYER TO GOD
Everything What else do I want?
In thought, nothing comes close,
To the perfection I have in You.
Your Word, my food,
Your Spirit, my water,
Your Name, my shelter,
I lack nothing.
You are Everything.
Prayer? How does one pray? What exactly is supposed to happen when we seek God? Is there a form to it? Does He expect us to do certain things, or act a certain way? Is there one way to pray? Will He honor our hearts?
The Lord of heaven and earth, the God that formed the reality we
live inside, the One who both made us, and purposed a plan for us -- this Creator, although standing outside of Time; although present everywhere; although holding all things together; can be closer than our breath . To think of this Almighty Being, this Wonderful Lover, this Incredible Savior, and then to imagine Him caring for us enough to personally be with us, where we live, makes one''s heart beat faster -- does it not?
I live for You, my
Lord. I praise You, my
God.
I obey You, my
Father. I serve You, my
Creator.
I bow to You, my
King. I love You, my
Husband.
I confess You, my
Holy Redeemer.
You are the
Great I AM, You are the
Source of Life!
You are the
Ever-Living One, You are
Eternal!
You are the
Righteous Judge, You are
Just!
You
are!
My voice
shall you listen carefully to, at dawn,
O Yahueh;
At dawn will I direct my prayer
unto you,
and will await.
Psa. 5:3
All of our lives,
we come before Your holy throne,
we worship before Your feet,
we listen to Your Word,
we watch for Your leading,
we live for Your glory.
Blessed, the people that know the joyful sound:
they shall walk, O Yahueh,
in the light of your face.
In your name shall they rejoice all the day:
and in your righteousness shall they be lifted up.
Psa. 89:15,16
A prayer of David.
Hear the right, O Yahueh, give heed to my cry,
give ear unto my prayer, not out of feigned lips.
Let my judgement come forth from your face;
Let your eyes gaze at the things that are even and just.
You have tested my heart;
You have visited in the night;
You have tried me, as metal in fire,
and shall find nothing;
I am purposed, my mouth shall not transgress.
Psa. 17:1-3
For I know the intentions
that I plot concerning you, says Yahueh,
intentions of peace, and not of evil,
to give you a hopeful future.
Then shall you call out to me,
and you shall go and pray unto me,
and I will listen carefully to you.
And you shall seek me, and find,
when you shall seek diligently for me,
with all your heart.
Jer. 29:11-13
Be anxious about thing;
but in all, by the prayer and the supplication with thanksgiving,
let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God,
the one held above all understanding,
shall watch over your hearts and minds,
through Christ Jesus.
Phil. 4:6,7
God''s Truths still apply today First, it must be noted that Paul''s teachings were not directed to only one particular
church. He directed them to every assembly of believers, teaching all of the same doctrines which he received from our Lord to everyone. It can therefore be seen that his teachings indeed apply to every church today as well. For, he commanded his epistle to the Thessalonians to be read in all of the churches -- therefore, we still read it today as well as all of his others, in church, as well as use them for teaching.
"Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the Good News. Therefore I urge you to imitate me. For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church." I Cor. 4:15-17
"I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren." I Thess. 5:27
"
All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work." 2 Tim. 3:16,17
Also, it should be noted that
there is no case-distinction in the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts; no upper and lower case of the letters. It is all written in the same case. Keep this in mind when you see something capitalized, as it is purely the translator''s opinion (such as "And
Pray in the Spirit").
How can you get your prayers answered? There is a definite way; that is not the issue. God has spoken to us plainly about how to get what we ask for, and everything that is involved in it. We are not left in the dark, concerning how to ask of God, and receive. I hope to open His Word to you, so that you may enjoy all that He has for you.
