What is the greatest human fear? Death by far is the greatest fear, not the act itself but the
fear that is the uncertainty that is felt toward what actually occurs to our souls, should we have them, after we die.
If you were a government that wanted to control a wondering
people why not create or at least sponsor the creation of a
religion that encourages the objectives the people the religion is set around. With regards to the Christian God, we have a set of commandments that enable and encourage us to basically live for enternity in a world where if we play nice with others instead of causing controversy can live for all time.
Sounds very good, I would love to live in a place where the streets are paved with gold and there is no pain and suffering, yawn! Please people open your eyes, and hope with me that there is a god or some deity that will enable some sort of transition when we die. The bible and the entire Christian religion was created to allow the people an option to be good and civilized rather than, live in anarchy and civil unrest.
Imagine being the president or king of a country with no religion, just set laws to protect you and other citizens. The debauchery and evilness as it is defined to us now would be out of control.
Think if you will on how many of our currently laws are based solely on a religious base. Almost all laws have some sore of religious basis for being. Keep an open mind, if you were tired of your neighbors stealing all of your stuff, and you wrote the bible, which is more likely that you put a commandment down that said do not steal my stuff, or that a all powerful being of the universe took the time to draw the commandment on a rock and give it to a hermit like person who lived out in the woods.
Take Jesus Christ for instance, which is more likely? That Jesus was just plain created by the hand of god, or that Mary and Joseph committed an offense that at the time could have resulted in one or more of their deaths, sex and lied about it. If you take some time and actually think about it from an outside perspective you can realize like some of us. It is far more likely that the bible is a folk tale and that god is just a creation in order to keep citizens from fear death and being anarchists.
