A
group of 6 friends where piled up into a car. They where heading for a
huge wood a few miles out of town, where
they would be camping. Resting
in the middle of the forest was a massive lake. They would be camping
just a few minutes away from it so they could go swiming.
Sarah was in the car with her boyfriend, Andrew, her best friend, Melissa and her other friends CiCi, Matt and Reese.
The car stopped at the edge of the wood and the all clambered out.
"Wow i dont remember it being this big before," said CiCi brushing her long blonde hair.
They stood at the forest and peered in. It was really dark and broken twigs lay everywhere.
"Everyone get your bags we are going in," said Andrew.
They all got their bags from the boot and headed towards the path.
"Ouch," cried Melissa as CiCi rolled her bag over her foot, "how heavy is that bag?"
"Thats just her make-up bag," laughed Reese as he
walked past the 2 girls.
"Shut up," complained CiCi hitting Reese in the arm.
Reese continued laughing as he walked into the wood.
Sarah walked over to the path and stopped.
"Come on," said Melissa.
Sarah looked back, they had all gone in.
"Here we go," murmured Sarah as shes stepped into the woods.Chapter 2They
all watched as Matt walked into the forest. He took a few steps and
dissapeared. Consumed by the darkness. They saw his flash
light flicker
on a few feet into the darkness.
Matt made his way through the mass of rocks, twigs and tree roots which
where sticking out of the ground. He finally made it out into the open.
All around the lake was grass. It was really long and came up to his
waist. He got to the edge of the water and stripped off only leaving on
his swiming shorts before running in.
Back at camp they could hear him running and splashing the water.
He dived under the water. When he came back up to the surface he was in
the middle of the lake. He took a deep breath of air before diving back
under the water. He swam downwards trying to find the bottom. It was
really dark so he could only see a fewe feet ahead of himself. He swam
and swam but seemed to get no where. He was running out of air. He gave
one last kick to see if he would hit the bottom but it never came. He
was a bout to swim back up to the surface when he noticed something
white coming towards him. It was coming from the bottom. Matt didnt
know what it was but it was coming right at his face. He squinted his
eyes and managed to make out it was a hand. It was pale white with long
nales. He then noticed another hand, that aswell coming towards him.
Matt began to freak out and swam to the surface. He burst out of the
water. He breathed heavly. Suddenly the lake became icy cold. Matt
tried to swim to the edge but was so cold and tired it was even hard to
keep himself afloat.
His teeth chittered as his breath swirled in the air. His fingers and toes where numb.
Matt was about to try swim again when he felt a hand grad onto his
ankle. It was even colder than the water. Matt looked down into the
water but couldnt see anything.
The hand sudenly began to tug him under water. He struggled and kicked
with his free foot, but that aswell was soon gripped by a icy-cold
hand. He knew this wasnt a trick.
The hands pulled him down more. Matt opend his mouth to shout for help
but got a mouth-full of water. He began to splash with his hands and
arms and shimmed his legs. He suddenly felt the hands let go of his
legs.
Matt looked around in the water out of breath. How could this person hold their breath so long he began to think.
He heard a noise from behind him and he spun round. He looked but
nothing was there. He turned back round to see a woman about a inch
away from his face.
He was about to let out a scream but one of her hands clamped over his mouth.
She had long black wavy hair and a long pointed nose. She was pale
white and the only thing that had colour on her face was her Red eyes.
She had a bright white gownon.
She brought her free hand up out of the water. She was holding a knife!
Matts eyes winded. His heart beated faster and faster. He tried to get
free from her cluth but the knife came slashing into his neck.
The woman let go of his mouth and disapeared back under the water.
Blood splurted from his neck as he tried to get some air. He felt
weaker and weaker. He couldnt get a breath of air. He suddenly felt the
hands grab his ankles again and pulled him under the water. He ccouldnt
do anything as he was dragged under the water. Further and further.
With one last kick, Matt disapeared.CHAPTER3"God
for the amount of noise Matt was making hes really quite now," said
Melissa to the others who where still sitting round the camp fire.
"Yeah im getting worried," Said CiCi staring into the black forest.
The fire lit up the campfire but beyond that it was pitch black.
"Im going to go find him," said CiCi as she stood up and walked over to her bag.
She bent down and pulled out her flash light. She walked to the edge of the camp and stopped, peering into the night.
"I should come with you," said Reese.
"Na its ok," said CiCi.
She turned on the flash light. It came on but then flickered. It was running out of battery.
"Oh Reese you better get the other one out of the car," said CiCi hitting the light with her hand.
"ok," said Reese treking into the forest,"see ya soon!"
"Sure you dont want me to come?" asked Sarah
"No i will be fine," replied CiCi already walking into the dark.
CiCi stumbled through the woods. She had open-toed high heel shoes on
which made it hard to walk in. She waved her hands around over her head
to stop any branches from messing up her hair.
She moaned as a twig jabbed into her toe and she walked into a hanging
twig. The flash light was going on and off and she had to keep stopping
to fix it.
She walked through the forest. She was nearly at the lake when her light switched off.
"Ugh," she moaned smacking the light with the palm of her hand.
She heared a noise ahead of her and looked foward. The light was still off so she couldnt see what it was.
"Hello," she shouted out.
The light flickered on and she caught a glimpse of a woman a few feet ahead of her before the light switched back of again.
CiCi stood still for a few seconds before running towards the lake. She
couldnt run very well and kept stumbling. Twigs snapped everywhere,
flying up beside her face. She finally reached the open where she could
see. She turned back into the forest but couldnt see anything. She
walked out half way between the water and the wood.
She sat down trembling.
After a little while nothing happend and CiCi began to think it was
just her mind playing tricks on her. She stood up and noticed Reese at
the edge of the wood. She ran over to him.
"Hey get the flash light?" she asked.
"Yeah," said Reese handing the torch to CiCi.
A cold wind suddenly blew from the woods. CiCi grabbed her arms and
started rubbing them for warmth. Reese peered behind him. They heared a
twig snap not to far into the woods.
"What is it?" whispered CiCi.
"Dont know," said Reese still scanning the forest.
"You know is saw a women earlier on, she didnt look alive, do you think...."
CiCi stopped there as Reese swung his head towards her and started to laugh.
"HAHAHAH, dont tell me you think its the Lady Of the Water!" Smirked Reese as CiCi sighed.
"Let me tell you one thing CiCi! If there is some freaked up, dead
phsyco women she would have at least killed one of us by now....
Suddenly something swung down from the tree. CiCi jolted her head up to
see a woman hanging from a thik branch. The women raised her hand and
swung it down towards Reese who was still faceing CiCi. A shiny hook
sliced through Reese's neck. It cut out the other side spraying blood
over CiCi's face. The women lifted Reese of the ground with the hook.
He still gasped for air as he frantically kicked with his legs which where now
