The Mist By Steven King:
I thought
for my first summary should be one of my favorite things and that is The Mist by Steven King.
"As a species we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?"
This simple line from the book seems to sum it up perfectly.
The Plot revolves around a
Strange Mist that has come about due to a mysterious project that has been comencing at the local army base. Slowly but surely, similarly to most of Kings Novels, chaos and strange animals begin to appear and it
follows a group of people trapped in a Shopping Store.
The book is not only about strange creatures but the way in which the people in the novel react to the situation around them. There are many classic characters, the beautiful yet strong woman, the man with the cute son, the crazy religious lady, army men and many many scared bystanders that dip in and out of the plot.
In all it is a good book for people that like short novels as there is only 13 short chapters, as well as people who like seeing interaction and human nature. There is also some bits of humour in it aswel making it a good book. In my opinion a definate must read. Or if you dont reading, there is now a film adaptation.
