Chilean Letters

Book Review   by:Betty_Blue     Original Authors: Tomás Antônio Gonzaga; Organização de Joaci Pereira Furtado
ª
This abstract was translated from Cartas Chilenas

The Chilean Letters, are thirteen letters written in verses under the pseudonym
of Critilo, they make heavy critics at that time governor of Minas
Gerais. Critilo fakes to write from Chile, telling a friend the Chilean government's abuses, that should cause us repugnance for its corruption and cruelty, but it is noticed, for the panorama and for the told circumstances, that "Chile"
is the captaincy of Minas Gerais and that "Santiago" is the city of Vila Rica.
