CRIMINAL INTENT

Book Review   by:CatherineGallagher     Original Author: Sheldon Siegel

Lawyers Mike Daley and Rosie Fernandez are criminal defense attorneys, law partners and former spouses, who live and work in San Francisco, California. The book opens as Rosie calls Mike in the middle of the night to tell him that Big Dick MacArthur has fallen (or been pushed) off the deck of his seaside cliff house at Baker''s Beach, during or shortly after a pre-release screening party at his home. Rumours abound. However, Rosie''s niece is his current (and third) wife, and is the star at his latest attempt at mainstream movie success. Unfortunately, Angel, his wife, was picked up by the police and accused of murdering her husband. But is it murder at all? And, if so, by whose hand? And why? Daley and Fernandez must wade through a morass of details, scandal, supposition, love trysts, anger, hatred, threatened bankruptcy and mutual relationships (with others and each other) and far more before they find the truth. It is a strange book with a shocking outcome, and one I''ll not soon forget.
