Jenny Pox

Book Review   by:tahall     Original Author: J. L. Bryan
ª

Jenny Pox is the story of Jenny Morton and her deadly power to give people Jenny Pox. But, on a larger scale, it is the story of a small southern town and the forces of good and evil that conspire against each other. The powers of love, hate and manipulation that are all played out to the exciting conclusion that can save or destroy the town.
Jenny is the girl that is picked on and has no friends at the local high school. She is called Jenny Mittens for the gloves that she always wears to protect people from her touch, but, of course, they can't know that. That is until she finds a boy, Seth, with a power that counteracts hers. Finally she knows what it's like to have a friend, be able to feel the touch of her skin on someone else's and be in love. The only problem is Seth's ex-girlfriend, Ashleigh, not wanting to give him up. She will go to drastic lengths to try to get him back until Jenny learns to use her power to cleanse Seth's mind.  Furthermore, how far Ashleigh will go to keep Seth and Jenny apart.
While seeming to be a supernatural horror, J. L. Bryan's story is a romance with an unparalleled release of power, resulting in mass murder and mayhem, thrown in. By using very strong character development you are pulled into the story. With the turn of each page you are kept waiting in anticipation to find out what is going to happen next. Through Jenny and Seth the lesson of sacrifice is learned. And that in the end, true love can conquer all.
