My husband seems to think I like mystery novels. I hate to disillusion him. I prefer romance or humor novels. Still I will read something he chooses. The mystery novels he chooses are usually good. This book was published in the nineteen thirties.
The first victim, Julia Wolf, is murdered. The body is found right at the first of the book. I believe she is found in her home. It is pretty easy to forget.

The book is a very very fast read. There are only 201 pages. The book is divided into 31 chapters with most of the chapters being about three or four pages. I read the book in two days.

There is one thing I don't understand about the book. That is the title. Why was it called "The Thin Man" I must have missed something. I don't know who the thin man is.
There is a discussion about cannibalism which, though interesting, seems not to belong in the book. But it is more interesting than the rest of the book.
I had a hard time keeping the characters straight. I wanted to call the mother "Dorothy" and the daughter, "Mimi" Maybe that is because I went to school with a girl named "Mimi".
