The ship which is going to travel to New York soon will be sailing, Mr Wyatt will be travelling with his two sisters and wife, however they have rented three cabins (each one for two people), but the occupant of the third cabin is a mistery that our character is decided to resolve. The day of shipment all the characters are present and Mr. Wyatt who is a close friend of the character that relate this history, introduce him to his wife, nevertheless there was a difference in the description that have told our character before he know her, but that is not so significant.
At the instant a oblong box arrive to the ship with the name of Mr. Wyatt, which is save it in the extra cabin of Mr Wyatt, who at the same time have a lugubre and sorrow aspect, just as his sisters. Oddly the wife doesn´t have that aspect. Few days later our narrator realise that all the nights, Mr Wyatt move of cabin, and goes where the mysterious box is, and at the background, very deep, sobs of complete sorrow and crying can be listen.
Soon a big storm start, and this event force all the passengers to leave the ship in lifeboats, when the last people are in the ship, between they the narrator, the captain and the whole Wyatt family, mounted in the last boat, but Mr Wyatt has realise that he had left his most valued treasure, he go back desperately to pick up his valued box leaving the boat, when he find it, he tied strongly to it, due to the weight, he drown with the box, abandon by this way to all her family, all by his "big treasure".
After that the captain explain everything, Mr Wyatt´s wife have died a day before to sail, and he at the same was going to visit to the mother of his wife and take her the body, in order to nobody cancel their trip in the ship due to the presence of a corpse, the captain propose to Mr Wyatt to take her in a oblong box, cover in salt ,so nobody realise of this. The women who has made pass as Mr Wyatt´s wife is a maid who is easily convinced to do her part and nobody notice it.Now Mr Wyatt rest in peace with his most beloved person in the deep of the sea.
