High Five

Book Review   by:Apollo     Original Author: Janet Evanovich
ª

HIGH FIVE is the fifth instalment of Janet Evanovich’s best-selling Stephanie Plum series. And once again, Stephanie is back with another side-splitting action adventure. Stephanie Plum’s uncle Fred has gone missing after a trip to the garbage disposal factory. Even though it’s not a bond enforcement case, Stephanie feels obligated to help. Family is family, right? Meanwhile, former boxer and currently insane Benito Ramirez has been given parole from jail, claiming that he’s found God in the confines of prison. Stephanie sees the inner-man when Ramirez says that he wants to “introduce her to God.”  To add to that, one of Stephanie’s fugitives takes up residence in her apartment because of a capture gone wrong. And a man called Bunchy shows up on Stephanie’s doorstep claiming that Uncle Fred owes him money and he won’t leave her alone until she finds him. After a bit of digging, Stephanie finds out that her innocent, and penny squeezing, uncle has photos of a dead person in his work desk drawer. A trip to the garbage company revs up more intrigue when two of the counter attendants end up dead, and Stephanie’s Aunt Mabel finds out that the garbage company won’t take her garbage because of a missing payment. Stephanie's relationship with Joe Morelli heats up, but now he has some competition with Ranger. "Uncle Fred is missing?" -- Stephanie. "I think he's been abducted by aliens." -- Grandma Mazur Once again, Stephanie is thrown into the driver's seat of another adventure. And once again another car goes to Automobile Heaven. Will Ramirez send Stephanie to God? Will she find Uncle Fred? Will that extra slice of pizza she ate end up on her thighs like Morelli said? Read it, and see.
