First Offense

Book Review   by:Hasu     Original Author: Nancy Taylor Rosenberg
ª

A gripping story ,"First Offense" is all about
a beautiful woman,Ann Carisle who, unwittingly gets deeply involved in a
mysterious controversy. The story unfolds with a court room scenario
wherein the protagonist, Ann Caristle, is charged with the duty of being
a probation officer for the young defendant,a drug dealer called Jimmy Sawyer.
Since it is his first offense , he is let off on bail but only under the legal
supervision of Ann.

Shortly after that , a sudden savage shoot-out leaves Ann helpless and bleeding
in a deserted parking lot. This is where the story gains impetus. She is rescued
by Jimmy. Her past begins to haunt her incessantly.A strange caller with a voice
like that of her supposedly dead husband calls her up in the odd hours of
the night and scares her to death! There is an unknown enemy who seems to
feel that her very existence could be a threat to him.Ann's boyfriend,D. A.
Glen Hopkins is hell bent upon getting a pervert inhuman rapist the death
sentence.

Who is the enemy then? The nefarious activities of Jimmy make him the most
likely suspect here, but Ann is quick to realize that there is more than that
can be seen with the eye.Sinister gory events occur which further confuse
the reader into making wild guesses. The end does come in as a little
dissapointment. But nevertheless, the book takes you through a compelling saga
of action-packed drama.Certainly recommended for ones looking
out for a boost of adrenaline!
