Book Review   by:BlueFlames     Original Author: Linda Lael Miller

The book Deadly Gamble, by Linda Lael Miller is about a woman named Mojo Sheepshanks. Mojo Sheepshanks lives above Bad-Ass Bert''s, a bar which is known for it''s regular brawls. Mojo is a woman with many secrets, on of them is that she is a missing child. Deadly Gamble tells the tale of a child witnessing the murder of her parents, and then being kidnapped by the baby sitter. Everyone suspected as well as Mojo that her brother murdered her parents. Whether it was him or not, he plead guilty and did the time. Now he''s out. Mojo has experienced hard times, and the present is no different. Mojo struggles to pay the rent by being an at home bill coder. It doesn''t pay much, but it''s better than nothing. Mojo''s life is impacted greatly when her friend, who is also her landlord of Bad-Ass Bert''s gets assaulted and almost killed below her apartment. The only reason she got there in time was because of a tip from her dead ex-husband. Mojo thinks she''s going crazy. Her relationship with her sort of boyfriend cop is a constant roller coaster ride. She seeing ghost, people around her are dying, and she gets a sudden check which makes her rich, what else could happen?Overall, Deadly Gamble is a highly entertaining book which I recommend to mystery lovers. Miller brings a twist to a southern mystery by adding dead husbands and cute murdered cats.
