The Phamtom of the Opera." The Phantom of the Opera got many good reviews in newspapers and had millions of people watching the play from all around the world. The play was even better than the 40's version of " The Phantom of the Opera" starring Claude Rains as the Phantom. But did you know that even before the 40's movie and the broadway play that " The Phantom of the Opera" was at first known as a book.
The novel was quite a different version of the 40's movie and the broadway play. The novel was written by Gaston Leroux, a french writter who enjoyed writting about mysteries. Their is only little or not enough information about this auother and we really don't know what he looked liked either. But he is to be describe as a heavy set character with dark black hair and a dark black thick mustache. Gaston had published his novel in the year 1911. According to Gaston's novel, the story is the same plot only it has a little love and does not have a very sweet ending like Andrew Lloyd Webber's broadway play. Gaston's story happens to be a dark mysterious adventure which no one will basicly understand today.
