1910 Amberton; where men find jobs as miners not for gold but for coals to sell for fuel to trains. Fortune plays a wicked
game when the miners blew up a part of the cave accidently hit an underground water hole therefore drowning all of them in an instant. The wind was blowing at that time and a child was born on that tragic day.
Fifty years after the tragic deaths of miners. The story revolves around the mother daughter Ambertons, Edna and Diana, who owns a good measure of Amberton. Tragic struck once more when they decided to open up the mine. The cave claimed another life after half a century of slumber. Eliot Lyons, a hired cave architect, passed away after what the sheriff called as an "Accident" in the cave. Leaving his nine year old daughter Christie Lyon in the hands of his former employer Diana Amber. Fifty year old Diana Amber gladly accepts the child much to the refusal of her mother Edna. Edna claims her daughter is unfit to raise a child. In the beginning, Edna tried to make Diana and Christie's life miserable inorder to waive the responsibility of adopting the child. Once a lonely child and was unable to marry and have a child of her own, Diana fights for the right of the child. But things becomes complicated when the story slowly unfolds the legend in the cave and Diana's persona. The story of the cave goes way back when the Indians roam free and the cave was once used as a place to put their unborn child in which the latinas called los ninos. Diana, on the other hand, was raised unconventionally by her mom who used to beat her and scold her. Diana somehow looks normal in the outside, until the wind blows where she can hear the cries of babies. Edna dreads the days that follows as she observes some changes in her daughter's behavior. Edna dreads that the time was running out and that she needs to do something before it happens again.
What exactly was the connection between a fifty year old woman and a more than a century old cave? What is Edna afraid of? Little did the townpeople of Amberton know that the opening of the cave will affect everyone's lives. . . forever.
