Bermuda
triangle has been a source of mystery, myth, and legend for hundred of years. Many question have been raised that
are unanswered and those, which have been answered, are unproved. It is infact a pack of mysteries. Very strange phenomena and
disappearance take place there that baffle and confuse scientists and researches. Events range from lights in the sky to the disappearance of entire ships including their crews without leaving a trace. In last 150 years 40 ships and 20 planes have disappeared carrying over a thousands of people into oblivion, which is yet to be explained. Due to these facts, it proves the existence of unknown power of entity within it. Bermuda
triangle is often defined as a triangle formed by drawing a line on a map from Bermuda to Puerto Rico to the Florida Keys and back to Bermuda. Many scientists, explorers have put forwarded their ideas and concepts about this region. Originally it was first documented by a European to visit the new world. Christopher Columbus and his men too observed strange phenomena as they traveled through the triangle in 1942 when their compass acted unusually. The first four historically documented disappearances took place between 1782 and 1812. The effects of this triangle are not only limited to planes and ships, it also had two nuclear subs, thresher and scorpion sink in the triangle without leaving a trace. One example of disappearance is ship ‘Carrel A Derring’ which was discovered fit for sailing adrift without a crew. These discoveries do not help answers the question of disappearance but only add another dimension to already confusing mystery. Among all, the disappearance of flight 19 is the famous one. Flight 19 was a Squadron of 5 navy Corpedo bomber with a total of 14 men on board which took off from fort Lauderdale Naval Air station in Florida on Dec 6, 1945. Firstly the weather was calm but as the days went on weather got worse and pilot got lost and could not determine the location. The pilot tried to described the location in their official transmission to Florida but the transmission was suddenly cut off and contact was also lost and the searching began the next day but no traces were found. Flight 19 was believed to have crashed with a huge explosion in the air but in fact five training planes had crashed in same area at different times where flight 19 was believed to have crashed. Whether flight 19 was found or not mystery still remains same. The question of what has caused the disappearance to take place in this area has made many people search out their own answers because of inadequate ones given by the government. A no. of explanations has been purpose for the causes . Seiche waves caused by underwater landslides and many enormous amount of energy are one of the reasons. Similarly, some scientist believes under water earthquake as one of the causes. Also the blue holes (caves in the cliff of limestone throughout the Bahamas), where when tides are caused water flow rapidly causing whirlpools on surface as water in sucked to inland pools and causing easily pull a small boat into it, is considered as the main. A cause but these holes cannot pull larger ships. Such theories may provide possible answers to disappearance of ships but they don’t approach the question of disappearance of planes. Weather phenomena like strong wind are described for it but it is not a good reason. So it must have been caused by invisible phenomena. Another explanation is, although difficult to prove scientifically, holes in the sky that a plane can enter but not leave the area. Likewise, theories related to magnetic anomalies, like some believe location of earth’s magnetic poles in that region which changed in prehistoric times, have been forwarded. Some say that the Atlanta’s who were the inhabitants of this region before the land sink into oceans had possessed the powers to manipulate forces of natures like gravity and as the land went on sinking in the ocean the area disappeared. And thus it is believed that those people may have left this those machines on and they could be still operating today on their lost continent below ocean, which caused planes to crash, and ships to drag into bottom of oceans. This disappearance without leaving a trace has left searches baffled and confused. Even though today’s science can find no answer to these mysteries perhaps the future may bring better scientific equipments and procedures so that we can more closely analyze the ocean and ocean floors in this area. Only then may we finally answer to the mysteries of “BERMUDA TRIANGLE”
