This is a murder
mystery which is very deeply related to human psychology . It tells us about the dark side of human mind as the endless night. The
narrator (
male lead ) of this story marries his beloved and settles in a village. But soon a series of murders
starts and many people who have the reasons to kill are under doubt. Investigation about the murders also starts. In between the wife of the male lead is also
killed. Now the male lead is under deep thoughts. He
thinks about his past and in the process of thinking recognizes his dark side and the people he had harmed. He thinks about all the people he killed during his childhood, teen and youth (including those murdered in the village). Ultimately, he is also caught by law. Some details of this novel may have been left as I read this
book long ago. But the very different topic and a poem used in this novel still remains in my mind. This poem was also taught to me in my primary school. The narrator’s wife was singing the poem in her room playing a piano before her murder. The narrator watches her from the window and thinks how beautiful and lovely she is. The poem goes (starts) as: “Little fly thy summer’s play, My thoughtless hand has brushed away!”
