The Firm

Book Abstract by: Insomniac23

Original Author: John Grisham
Mitchell Y. McDeere had three job offers from Wall Street law firms, but he chose the one from the unassuming town of Memphis:
the law firm of  Bendini, Lambert & Locke. The firm concentrates on tax work, Mitch's forte, and at eighty thousand a year during his first year, with a BMW and a low mortgage on the house, Mitch was hungry. He begins to build a reputation for himself in a firm where the promise of a partnership and big bucks are always grilled on the lawyers. But the law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke has a deep, dark secret that the FBI wants to unravel. The Bureau seeks Mitch's help; and soon, Mitchell Y. McDeere, hot-shot associate of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, is fighting for his survival.
What do you get when you put a law firm and the Mafia together? You get one hell of a legal thriller. This work of John Grisham will, literally, keep you up until the wee hours of the morning. I kid you not. It's fascinating to see your attorneys-at-law do dirty work for the mob. Add that to the humor Grisham injected into his characters and dialogues, and you have a surefire bestseller in your hands. From the very first pages of the novel, when McDeere was recruited to the firm, the reader is hooked. By the time McDeere discovers the dirt on his firm, the reader is addicted.
