Twelve-year-old Billy should’ve known Camp Nightmoon would be no ordinary summer camp the minute their nervous bus driver
left them stranded in the middle of nowhere. Billy and the other frightened campers huddled together a deserted platform, listening to strange animal howls that seemed to creep closer and closer. When Uncle Al, the Camp Director, finally arrived to take them to Camp
Nightmoon, things went from bad to worse. The first day of camp Billy’s bunkmate Mike got bit by a snake while making up his bed. Too bad there’s no nurse at the camp! Larry, their counselor, simply warned the boys to “be more careful.” At the campfire that night, Uncle Al shared the camp rules that were much scarier than ghost stories.
Camp Nightmoon Rules: 1. Lights out at 9:00 pm sharp (
it’s far too dangerous to be after dark).
2. No swimming or rowing to the girls’ camp (
or you’ll be sorry you did).
3. You must write to your parents every single day (
to let them know you’re still alive).
4. When I mean, if you’re attacked by a grizzly bear, then STOP, DROP, and COVER your head and neck (
don’t panic like that boy did last summer).
5. And whatever you do…don’t go near the Forbidden Bunk!
Even with all the warnings from creepy counselors and the food that tastes like burnt cardboard, Billy believed he could handle “Camp Nightmare”…until the other boys from his cabin began to disappear!
It’s no wonder the
