Stephanie Plum, the brunette from Chambersburg, Trenton, is a fugitive
apprehension agent. A.K.A: bounty hunter. Problem is, all the training is on the job. Which means that one wrong move can mean ruining her hairstyle.
Let us take for instance, the Maxine Norwicki
case.
When Maxine Norwicki fails to appear for her court appearance, bail bondsman Vinnie puts his cousin, Stephanie, onto her trail. Simple…or not?
Things start becoming
strange when Norwicki’s ex-boyfriend starts receiving strange, coded messages from Maxine. It appears that Maxine wants to put her ex through his paces with a treasure hunt.
The notes are so hard to translate that Stephanie enlists the help of Sally Sweet. Giant drag-queen, code-breaker and lead guitarists with an attitude that rivals Lula’s.
Meanwhile, vice cop Joe Morelli helps out Stephanie when her apartment is firebombed. She, once again, destroys another car. In that fact, two of them!
Whilst this is going on, one of Maxine’s friends lose a finger, a mother has her head scalped, and a store clerk is murdered.
If all this was bad enough, Stephanie’s archenemy, Joyce Barnhardt, has persuaded Vinnie into giving her to Norwicki case. And if there is one thing Stephanie Plum will not do, it is to give Joyce the Norwicki case.
“You let that cow Joyce become a fugitive apprehension agent! She does the makeup at Macy’s!” – Stephanie
“When you started out, you used to buy lingerie for E.E& Martin.” – Vinnie
“This is a very different situation.” – Stephanie
Yes, Stephanie Plum is up to her usual antics in this comedic thriller that is a must read for any reader wanting uncomplicated fun.
