Are you curious about the famous Tarot fortune-
telling cards? Are you an experienced reader looking for new layouts
or a deeper way of approaching your readings and interpretations? This book can satisfy your
curiosity and yet lead you deeper into the art of reading the Tarot without confusion or any subtleties beyond the grasp of any who wish to know. It is simply written, beautifully detailed, and with a very unusual deck of cards shown as illustrations. This book begins with an explanation of what the Tarot cards are and how to start to use them, as well as their proper care and feeding, so to speak. It then goes into a detailed explanation of each one of the MAJOR ARCANA, their rulerships and correspondences (by planet, astrological sign, and/or element). It then gives meanings for the particular card in both upright and reversed positions. (The Major Arcana can be used for meditations, as they represent the path or spiritual journey through life. Pick a type of deck that you resonates with you for this purpose--I personally find the Rider-Waite deck the best.) The MINOR ARCANA represent the vicissitudes of life--the changing circumstances and the people we meet, as well as the experiences we tend to have throughout our existence here on Earth. In this book, the author gives each one a Keyword, the meaning of the card, if upright, and the reversed card''s meaning. With each suit of cards (similar to the suits of ordinary playing cards, though not the same), he gives the astrological and elemental correspondences. Next, he answers a few well-chosen questions, gives a number of simple and easy to read
layouts for the cards (as well as a few more complex ones, for when one advances in experience with reading the cards), and gives a few very simple ways of TIMING happenings in a person''s (or other entity''s) life or situation from the cards'' positions in the spread. There are subtleties of interpretation laid out, such as the special meaning of the predominance of certain cards, e.g. of four aces in the spread, or of three queens should appear. Last, but not least, is a list of books for further study, should your curiosity have been piqued by this author''s presentation. This is an excellent book for beginners, and even those who have read the cards for many years may find something new and well-put here. I recommend it for anyone who has a genuine interest in, or curiosity about, the Tarot.
