Barry Trotter and the Unnecessary Sequel

Book Review   by:magicalwriter     Original Author: Michael Gerber
ª

This book, as quite understandable by the name, is the parody of the Harry Potter series, which is quite popular among kids and teens and probably the most famous. Anyhow this book will be liked and properly understood by all those who have either read the books or seen the movies of Harry Potter. This is the second book written by Michael Gerber on the parodies, the first onre being Barry Trotter and the Shameless Parody.
It is a facinating book as well as silly. The names of all the characters have been spoilled yet they are recognisable. It is quite funny once you read it.
In this book Barry's image has been displayed as a complete idiot. Ermine is his wife but she is quite intelligent. They have two children Nigel and Fiona. Nigel is the elder one and is extremely non-magical plus the fact that he doesnt like magic. But on the other hand his sister is totally magical. Now it' time for Nigel to go to the magical school, Hogwash School for Wizardry and Witchcrap.

Barry and Ermine accompany Nigel to the school. Just as the headmaster, Dorco Malfeasance, enters the great hall during the welcome feast, he trips and his extremely fat and heavy body falls, which as a result explodes and he dies on the spot. After that Barry and his wife Ermine are made Headmaster and Headmistress of the school. They accept the job. All is going fine but the twist in the story comes here.
Barry somehow develops youthenasia! His age has suddenly begun to decrease from 38 to nothing and surely if they don't find a cure soon he is opt to die!! Now Ermine has two tensions; the responsibilities of the school and saving his husband from dying. Barry on the other handis enjoying his returning to the youth since his hair is regrowing and he is becoming more and more active, till he returns to the stage of the Acne of Fire! Thats when he regrows his pimple.
Now Ermine is not only looking for a way to restore his health but is also on the trail of the criminal behind Barry's youthenasia. As usual they suspect Snipe(yup thats what they call him here!) but someone else is really behind all this and you won't believe who. Anyways Ermine tries this and that but nothing helps. Soon she discovers that only he can help who has trapped Barry and before she can find him, the criminal finds her!
Okay okay no more suspence...its no other than Alpo Bumblebore! Obviously Ermine asked the reason for such action and he told her that he casted the spell upon Barry to keep the two of them occupied while he took care of his master plan. His plan was to transport the magical world to Atlantis, away from the muddles! In this book the magical world is not hidden from the muddles. Infact muddles are also part of the magical school. The problem with Bumblebore was that he could never handle the muddles who used to make fun of him. Hence out of his jealousy he decided to transport all the magical eings to Atlantis where they could live in peace without them. However due Barry and Ermine's efficiency they were able to stop him and all went well in the end.
This is one book which is not to be missed!
