In a place located beyond the imagination, in a faraway age, o perhaps in a close place from the actual age, we could set this wonderful history of the gemany writter Michael Ende. Momo is a little girl who lives calm and happy in an abandoned amphitheater which was used for home, located in the suburbs of a big city. However in contrast with other children, she was known for been "the girl who help others with their troubles". In fact, the little girl just do something that to many of us is very difficult: Listen carefully to others. Momo do it without judgment or treating of giving advices based in a cheap ethic, she just listen and enter into the people´s heart with truly empathic and compassion. This helps a lot to the people that visit her in the amphitheater because relieve their disturbed hearts and go in peace as Momo feel grateful for being visited and have every time more friends between children and adults in which excel two of them: Gigi Cícero and Sweeper Beepo. It was in that time when strange people in expensive grey cars appeared. Dressed with expensive suits, grey pumps and briefcases, with unexpressive faces of the same color combined with the fact they don´t stop smoking a greyish curious cigarettes.These sinister subjects call themselves Box of the Time Saving agents, thorough tricks persuaded people to saving time: Every moment of amusement, in order to share it with friends o some beloved person; to help others o dedicate it to love, is wasted time. It most be suppress and preserved. The best way to save efficiently the time, according to the agents, is working faster and do the double of tasks that are made normally in a day. By this way, the time start to remain but the thing which it isn´t perceive by the incautious savers is that their time dissappeared of their hands. It is stolen and storage in a gelid warehouse where it is frozen by the grey men, parasitic of the men who became into embittered persons, always are in bad mood and without a momento to live the life due to they are convinced that they will enjoy it in the future. However the plans of the grey men are rusted by Momo, an uncommon girl who is capable to enter in the hearts of those who speak to her, and she realise of the selfishness of the thiefs of time. When they can´t be able to control her, she became into a danger so they train to capture her but fortunately escape with the help of a very special turtle call Casiopea which communicate through the words written in its shell. Guided by Casiopea, Momo arrive to a place out of time, The Nowhere House, home of the Master Hora where she met the horary flowers and the time´s secret.
The grey men decided to eliminate their annoying enemy, weave a plan using the beloved friends of Momo, who when know the truth about the time decide to come back for Gigi Cicero and Sweeper Beppo in order to help her against the grey men, but it is late. As the girl spend her time with the Master Hora and Casiopea, the evil people have altered the reality in Momo´s world.
Gigi is a famous man who hasn´t time for friendships or entertainments and at the same than other men, his heart has dry. Blepo, labeled as mad, trying to find his little friend, was imprisoned. This is taken by the grey men who convinced the sweeper to sign an agreement which became him into a own timeless slave. Regarding to Momo´s little friends, they are shut in a Children Storehouse because the grey men convinced their parents that take care of them it is a waste of time and the fact than they stay in the street is even worse. The girl is alone and at the mercy of the greedy creatures. This force her to came back to Nowhere House but he don´t arrive alone, the grey men have followed her, ready to steal the horary flowers. The Master Hora explain to Momo that the cigarretes that the grey men smoke are made with frozen horary flowers, it´s the only way they can use it in order to keep existing, without their, the men vanish. For this reason, the Master Hora weave a desperate plan: He will stop the time in order to cut off the supply of the fresh horary flowers, this force to the grey men to discover the hiding place of his warehouse and then prevent from using it again. When the cigarettes consume, the grey man will vanish returning Momo´s world to normality.
Despite of the fear, the girl accept the mission and accompanied by Casiopea face the thiefs of the time. Thanks to the pure heart of Momo; the good advises of the turtle; the grey men hysteria, and a lot of luck, the mission is a success. The thiefs of the time dissapeared, the horary flowers are returned to the men and Momo came back with her friends, as the lector is given an advise:
The time saved is time wasted. Don´t believe that illusion, open your heart and live the life with plenitude.
