When we think of fairytales, the first name that comes to mind is Cinderella. Many young girls dream of having that perfect
fairytale ending. According to this classical fairytale, Cinderella is the daughter of a poor man who marries a rich woman, the woman has two daughters and they are all very cruel to Cinderella. She is made to do all of the housework and is treated like a slave. One day the king of the land decides that his son should have a wife so he organizes a great ball so that all of the eligible young women can come and the prince can chose his bride. On that night a fairy appears to Cinderella and introduces herself as her
godmother. She gives Cinderella a beautiful dress, a carriage and servants to wait on her. Of course when the prince sees Cinderella he falls in love with her, they spend a
wonderful time together but Cinderella had to leave before midnight, for as the fairy godmother told her the magic would be broken. So Cinderella runs away but leaves behind one of her slipper (which is made of glass). The prince finds the slipper and goes in search of his future wife. Cinderella has also created many other famous characters first of all we have Prince Charmin, the ultimate picture of the perfect man kind, gentle, rich, smart tall and handsome(of course),and a prince! Then we have the wicked stepmother. All of the things that most people would accuse their step parents of, cruel, greedy, selfish, sort of slave driver who only want the best for her own children. Let’s not forget the two stepsisters, I guess many children can relate to those two and associate them with any mean sibling or even schoolmate. Then last of all but certainly not least is the fairy godmother. That wonderful person, who freed Cinderella from her cruel family and prepared her for a delightful meeting with the prince, so many of us wish to have a fairy godmother and sometimes a special person in our life can be viewed as a fairy godmother, like a parent or family member, or even a friend who give us the encouragement and resources for the beginning of a wonderful life. Whether you read the book or look at the movie it’s a wonderful story.
