The Alchemist

Book Review by: Yugandhara

Original Author: Paulo Cohelo
,Alchemist is a beautiful fable which tells you a story of a shephard boy who goes on to realise his dream and meet
his destiny. The shephard boy though a son of priest chooses to leave his home and become shephard, wander with his sheep in the search of green pastures for his sheep only because he likes travel and wants to know the world. The shephered boy has a recurring dream which he gets interpreted from an old lady and he then realizes his destiny. He goes in search of his destiny to the pyramids of Egypt where the hidden treasure is. Whether he finds his real treasure, what he learns in the process of finding his treasure and what obstacles come his wayand how he encounters it, all this makes an interesting and inspiration reading.
I have read and reread this book. Whenever I feel low this reading this short and beutiful fable brings up my spirit. It has such an effect on mind that it imbibes in you the thought that whosoever is trying to realise his destiny the whole universe conspires in helping you achieve it. So what you need is strong desire which does not fade even when opposing forces are at its best, many hindrances bloack your way and it appears to you that everything is lost.
So if you have a dram and you are doubtful as to whether to pursue it or follow the routine then its a MUST READ for you.
