This book was written by two
alternative healing practitioners with over two decades (20+ years) of experience in crystal
healing. They have brought together here, in a simple and beautiful format, both the general information, and the theory of crystal healing (though much is still a mystery--how and why these things work as they do), and then specific descriptions and discussions of more than one hundred (100+) safe and practical
crystals and minerals the authors have chosen to present in this little handbook. The introductory (general) material presents the origin of various gemstones; the chakras and subtle energy centers in the human body; types of crystals and their effects; various crystal-focused or crystal-centered meditations; care, protection and cleansing of your crystal collection; creating gem waters and essences; various crystal layouts; and much, much more. The discussions of the various individual stones have the scientific names, the chemical formula/s, a general presentation, identification (including distinguishing them from other similar stones) and their care, traditional uses in magic, the crystal's healing functions, practical ideas on the use of the crystals, a picture of the crystal, and, at the top of the page, three keywords to illustrate and highlight the discussion and use of the crystal in question. At the back of the book, these specific discussions are followed by a Glossary, mineralogical information, a short bibliography and a list of crystal healing associations in the United Kingdom (Great Britain) and the United States of America, and, finally, an index and acknowledgements. This is a very useful, practical and thorough guide, with a very positive approach and a spiritual emphasis.
