The Book of Faeries: A Guide to the World of Elves, Pixies, Goblins &

Book Review by: CatherineGallagher

Original Author: Francis Melville
This little book gives descriptions of many of the types (and individuals) of the faerie spirits. It tells how they feel,
what they do, where they're found, and, if one wishes to interact with them, how to do so, (and when not to).
There is a general discussion of the faerie folk and of the various types, from elementals and devas (nature spirits), to faery helpers and angelic faeries, as well as the tricksters and seducers. There are rituals and recipes related to faeries, as well. At the end of the book, there is an index, a short bibliography, and a glossary, as well as a list of fey herbs and faery trees.
Each of the types of faeries has apage or two devoted to them; description and discussion of their nature, habits, and preferences; in mnay cases, how tocontact or interact with them; and beautiful paintings of them on the facing pages.
