Angels and Demons is the precursor to the popular novel The
DaVinci Code. While Mr. Brown, I believe was at his best
in the DaVinci Code, I have to admit that Angels and Demons
runs a close second setting the stage for the reader to
better understand his popular follow-up novel. He takes
you on a most believable journey all over the world to end
up with the culmination of events taking place in Vatican
City with the entire world watching. The unfolding of
events is clever, yet predictable however the modus
operandi is not revealed until the last minute making for
quite a shocking ending. This novel allows the reader to
understand a little better some of the Catholic rites and
sects even those with no exposure to that particular
background. As a work of fiction, I think this novel
definitely warrants a read for those particulary interested
in this type of fiction.
