I used to read romantic novels since I was in High School
but none of them caught my innermost attention and interest until one day that
I incidentally bumped into the shelf of the book store I was in - for a purpose
of buying my friend a birthday card. The shelf was a section of romantic novels
. I therefore, paid attention to the books fell after I bumped into it
and there I saw one book entitled "Love Takes Time" that tickles my
nerves by just merely reading the synopsis.The story was about a student with an infatuation to her
Math teacher. She was in third year high school and normally, teenagers of this
age tend to see their teachers as ''object of their affection,'' meaning they
tend to like their teachers in a romantic way instead of treating them as
parents which they should be.I was turned off, at first because I find it a little odd
and I even asked myself what was the purpose of the author to write such novel?
And that only added to my interest of buying the book so I did buy it.It was then narrated that the girl named Yvonne met her
substitute teacher in Math and even at first sight, she was really felt intense
feeling towards the teacher - it was because of his intelligence and patience
of repeatedly teaching them. He looked tireless of walking around the
classroom and very much eager to teach his students in his Math subject. The
girl, therefore developed the romantic feeling to his teacher and she felt it
was really going deeper as days passed by. So she decided to let his teacher
knew it, she write an anonymous letter and slip it in between her folded test
paper. But days passed and the teacher did not even mention anything about it.
She was very much anxious and curious at the same time so she asked her teacher
about the letter. But Mr. Lee, the teacher told her he did not receive any
letter coming from her and even asked her what was the letter all about which
of course, she chose not to tell him. She just used other strategies to catch the attention of the
man, to the extent that she waited for him after class hours and make him let
her go with him in his car going home. At first, he let her for a ride, but the
second time she did it, he left her standing right there outside the car''s side
door. During class field trip, she felt very much ill after riding a roller
coaster and Mr. Lee helped her. It was late before he realized at the trip
going home, Yvonne was able to let their hands holding each other and she was
even sleeping in his shoulders. The teacher was very much angry about what
happened, he was just not sure whom to blame, if the student who kept on
convincing him she was half - conscious because of what happened to the field
trip - or himself because he was too tired to wake himself on time! All the
students inside the bus were all laughing and teasing them when they woke up
and he swore it was his most embarrassing experience! The issue reached the principal''s office because of the girl
group who was insecure of Yvonne, they were responsible of telling the school
official of what happened so the mother of Yvonne was requested to come to
school for a serious talk. Mother told the teachers that Yvonne grew up without
having a father and she asked for an apology to Mr. Lee that her daughter
simply look for a father image. The school officials accepted the apology and
Yvonne''s mother decided to enroll her daughter to other school.
Many years passed and they met again, Mr. Lee left his
teaching profession and simply chose to manage his own business while Yvonne
became a creative designer in a prestigious advertising company. It was a love
story made perfect for the two because after almost one decade, their hearts
long for each other and found their happiness to none other than each of them.
Mr. Lee finally admitted that he received all the letters she sent almost 10
yearsbut decided to keep it on his own because he didn''t want to sensationalize
the issue. He just kept in his heart the feelings he unknowingly developed
towards Yvonne because it was not right. She missed the young girl then when
she transferred to other school but he decided to let her go away and make her
own life without him. Instinctively, he was praying that the girl stay
unattached till their roads meet and so it did! With both of them being single,
they ended up being lovers and he admitted that the time he left
her in the school and did not let her ride in his car, he really didn’t left
her - he parked to the nearest restaurant along highway and waited her to take
a cab, followed her until she went home safe. Even before, he admitted that he
was already caring for her It was a love story of two people who fell in love with a
wrong person and wrong time but it did not caused them to give up their love
for each other. Instead, even without a mutual understanding, love was enough
to make them wait for the right time and meet again. Destiny was just too kind
to let them crossed their paths once more and let their love begin.
