Susanna Reyes, she is on top of every guy’s list as the girl who must be dated. She is beautiful, active, clever and is everything a guy wanted in a girl except, she is not available to go out with. Her boyfriend, Seth died from brain tumor cancer a few months ago and she can’t let go of her feelings towards him.
Here, comes in Anders Lund. He is a Norwegian exchange student to the school where Susanna studies, Altavista High School. Anders doesn’t understand why the girls in America are so affectionate to him and why they always swarm him whenever they see him. But whatever is it, he is not into starting a relationship at the moment because he can’t forget his girlfriend, Jennifer Nelson. She has broken up with him to go back to her boyfriend in America.
Susanna, under the advise of her best friend Carly Donovan, tries to get over Seth and starts a new life but not successful. She is not attracted to any boys or she prefer not to. But, Anders manages to get her attention because he always gets swarmed by the girls and Carly also had her eyes on him. Susanna gets to know more about Anders when he found her lost in the state park because she is looking for her dog, Timber.
Later, Anders gets the idea of pretending to be a couple so that they could ward off unwanted attention from their pursuers. What seems to be going well doesn’t actually goes well as both Susanna and Anders found themselves falling in love with each other. Confessions were made and they start to go out as a real couple. Things are going great but as the prom is getting closer, problems start to emerged. Anders will go back to his country as soon as he completed his studies at Altavista. Susanna thought back of Seth and stay away from Anders because she couldn’t bear to lose her loved one anymore. Jessica goes back to Anders because she has broken up with her boyfriend. Would Anders take Jessica back? How will Susanna react? What will be the ending? Please read the novel for more!
