Black Hills is the latest hardcover by the New York Times Bestselling author, Nora Roberts. In this latest book, Nora Roberts tells the story about two characters, Lil Chance and Cooper "Coop" Sullivan. Lil Chance and Coop Sullivan were childhood friends, who turned into childhood sweethearts before going there separate ways, Lil wanted more than anything to build a wildlife refuge for endangered and almost endangered animals while Coop wanted more than what his father wanted him to be. Lil got the chance that she dreamed about and was able to do what she had dreamed of, while Coop went on to become a police officer and later a detective.
Trouble arrives in the form of a serial killer and Coop comes back to the black hills of South Dakota to help catch the killer before Lil becomes his next victim. Lil still loves Coop despite him breaking her heart and does her best to keep him at a distance. Of course, this does not work for Coop, who makes the decision that he still loves her and will do what it takes to make her his again. He will also do what he has to to keep her safe even though she can take care of herself. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and looking forward to her next books that will undoubtedly be coming out soon.
