Mahi is a young boy who lives in a small town but dreams of becoming a famous singer. He is the younger brother of Aakash, Mahi does not earn money for the family, hence he is often rebuked by his bhabhi.
Mahi's good friend, Deepak lives in Mumbai (works as a sales executive in ad agency) and often calls him to make a living in the city. Deepak is aware of Mahi's dream of becoming a singer and knows that Mumbai can 'make his dream come true'. One day after a heated discussion with his bhabhi, Mahi decides to move to Mumbai with Deepak's help. Deepak is happy to know Mahi's decision and promises him every help in Mumbai.
Mahi reaches Mumbai and starts living with Deepak. One casual evening, Mahi sings a song that attracts the hearts of the pedestrians and residents of the area. This further strengthens Mahi's belief in himself. Mahi becomes famous in his locality in such a way that everyone who seeks respite from his sorrows visits him in solitude. Mahi relaxes them by singing soothing songs for them.
In the chawl where Deepak lives, resides a young aspiring writer, Nivedita who starts liking Mahi for his simplicity. Mahi is supported by Nivedita and they soon liking one another. Nivedita gets a job in a magazine and introduces Mahi to her editor. On hearing Mahi sing, the editor writes asks Nivedita to write an article on him for aspiring talents.
Mahi sings in the concert organized for aspiring talents and is appreciated. Mahi starts getting new offers to sing in public events. Mahi becomes famous and rich. Mahi and Nivedita's bonding grows with time.
Mahi happily goes to his town and gives his family gifts and money. Mahi's bhabhi is amazed and blesses him from her heart. When Mahi proposes Nivedita she accepts his offer. Mahi and Nivedita are happily married.
