STINE lives in New York City where he lives with his wife, Jane, and his son, Mathew and with his dog, Nadine. R.L. STINE likes to take his dog out for long walks. He has sold over 300 million books, making him the best selling childrens author in history. He has also made other series of books like Goosebumps which is also well known, Ghost of fear street and many other books. R.L STINE says 'My job is to give kids the CREEPS'. These days when he isn't writting he likes to read old mystery books and watch spongebob squarepants on TV. 'I love taking my readers to scary places", R.L. STINE says "Do you know the scariest place of all? It's your MIND!"
The book The nightmare room, Locker 13 is about a boy whos name is Luke and he is also the main character. Luke is a boy in year 7 in a school called Shawnee Valley Junior High and he has two bestfriends named, Hannah and Darnell. Hannah and Darnell go to the same school and they are also in year 7. Hannah is a girl and Darnell is a boy. It is a new school and a new year for Luke. Luke is kind od a weak boy and he always has a small lucky charm, a rabbit foot and a lucky shirt. Lukes worst number is 13 because he thinks it brings him the worst of bad lucks. His friend Hannah also has a lucky charm (a rather weird and horrible one), a small yellow skull. Luke excitedly runs to school to check out what number locker he has. He is highly horrified when he finds out it is LOCKER 13. Luke gets worried and fears he will start getting bad Luck. After school while he was going home he spots a black cat and he instently realises it's a sign of bad luck!
Lukes friend Hannah always gets good luck and she won $500 for her cutest picture of her dog. Luke gets jelouse. One day Luke finds a small yellow skull in the corner of his locker which starts to give him good luck but unbelivably and amazingly his friend Hannah starts to get bad luck. Hannah one day asked Luke if his seen her good luck charm but Luke says "no" because he himself needs good luck badly. Nearly everyday Luke gets bullied at schhol by a bigger boy named Shawn who calles Luke Strech.
But then one day things turn into harrible things. Lukes good luck stops immediately and he gets bad luck worse than ever just like Hannah. Luke than realises the little, yellow, skull, good luck charm wants something in retirn for it's good luck and in return he gives them bad luck!
