Persepolis

Book Review   by:pennylane8     Original Author: Marjane Sartrapi

Read this book, read this book, read this book!

I literally couldn't put it down until I finished it. I think I stayed up and finished it all in one night, actually.

A graphic novel about a girl growing up during the Iranian revolution. It's actually an auto-biography. It's funny, it's heart-felt, it's sincere, it's amazing.

You'll learn (or be reminded) about the revolution, sure, but the magic is the way she brings it down to a personal level. After all, all historical events happen to the people living through them...something that can easily be forgotten as revolutions are written up in history text books, and wars are televised like video games on televisions...
