" Tin Ghumti " which means three modes, is one of the most popular novels in Nepali literature . And B.P. Koirala is the author of this very novel .
The story is all about a woman , namely, Indra Maya whose life has been presented in three chapters of experience mixed with joys and sorrows .
At present , Indra Maya is an adult woman at her 45 , she reveals her past as the novel begins and the whole story line spreads as her role as a dedicated lover , commited wife and lovely mother . Besides this , Indra Maya's hidden sex psychology has been erupted as the story proceeds .
Indra Maya becomes nostalgic when she recalls how she loved Pitambar during her teen age . she abandoned her house and parents for Pitambar but she never got back desired love from him . He was a political member and spent much time for meetings and gatherings.
When he was imprisoned for his involvement in banned politics , Indra Maya came closer to Ramesh and they had physical relationship which led to her pregnancy followed by a baby girl . Later , Pitambar set free but Indra Maya's all the desperations and excitements were vanished when he paid no attention to them as he knew about the baby's status . Pitambar , finally , leaving Indra Maya in lurch , went for good and married another woman.
B.P. Koirala wants to recite the struggle of a woman in our society when she is helpless. Indra Maya is a bold and courageous woman . She has been represented as a woman with her physical as well as mental hunger in the absence of her husband . But whatever the circumstances are , she can't avoid her beloved husband and wishes for his flourishment and happiness all over her life .
