Gone with the wind is a tale of full of themes. It is riveting and a great novel and i recommend this book highly.Early appraisals of the novel noted its memorable characters and historical accuracy as well as Mitchell's remarkable story telling ability, through other dismissed the novel as melodramatic and trite.
Mitchell drew on her extensive knowledge of civil war history in order to establish a believable setting for Gone with the wind.
Gone with the wind movie is also there but the book is better i must say.The story is exciting, and the character Scarlet is really an interesting hero.If it fits nicely into the genre of historical romance and strategies portrayed and really accurate.
I wont bore you with the crisis that, most recently, sent me flying to my bookshelves to find my copy of Gone with the wind,Mine was printed in 1936.It belonged to my grandmother, who gave it to my mother, who passed it down to me.The cover is worn, the pages are yellow, and some of them are so bad that i have to be careful when i turn them.
The book is a romantic novel which everyone likes,it follows the adventures of Scarlet O'Hara, the pretty but pampered daughter of a wealthy plantation owner in Atlanta. The book begins with the announcement of the engagement of Ashley Wilkes,Scarlett's neighbor and infatuation to his cousin Melanie thereby prompting the willful Scarlet to declare her feelings to Ashley. Its an interesting novel with full of romance, trust, love and emotional drama
.Its a quintessential English novel, has long deserved to be rescued from critical disdain and given its correct place. Its a classic tale of love in hard times in much more than just a romance. If you haven't read yet means please go ahead its fantastic story by Mitchell
