A rider and a dragon , together they form a physical and mental bond which creates the existence of Eragon (by Christopher Paolini).
Eragon is the first book of the three-book series , all of which are written by Paolini.The element in this book which makes it unique from all the other bestselling books in the libraries is that it never gets boring.Considering the size of the book , a non-frequent reader wouldn't want to read this book.
Lets get back to the discussion of the book.
I should have written a review of all the four books in this series which is known as "The inheritance cycle" , I have however only read the first three books: Eragon , Eldest and Brisingr.The last one called Inheritance , I have not yet read.
The book Eragon is about a middle-aged teenager named Eragon who finds a stone near his house.The stone then begins to crack and he realizes that its an egg and not a stone.A miniature dragon hatches from the egg , he then decides to keep it a secret from the other family members in his house and feed the dragon.He keeps it in a forest and it continues to grow.
Later , evil creatures known as the Ra'zac who work for the evil King of the lands in the book burn Eragon's village and kill his uncle. (Eragon's mother died years ago while his father remains a mystery to him in the beginning of the first book so I shouldn't spoil the fun by telling you who is father is).
His cousin Roran blames Eragon for the death of his father , furthermore Roran's future wife also gets captured by the Ra'zac.Eragon and the villager survivors then start a quest to find Roran's future wife and the Ra'zac.
The journey then starts..............a journey which ends in the last and fourth book.
There are two more aspects I like of this book:
1.It has a map given on the first few pages of the book from which you can take reference as to where Eragon is at the moment and which route he has to follow to accomplish his objectives.
2.The last pages of the book contain translations in English of other languages which are used by the dwarves , elves , and the ancient language.The ancient language is spoken by Eragon when he has to cast magical spells.
In addition to that, Eragon and his dragon Saphira create a mental bond between themselves so they can communicate between distances.
Eragon is a great book and should be added to your collections right away if you love magic , adventure and excitement!
Christopher Paolini is a mind-blowing writer and I'm a fan of his.
If you finish reading Eragon , you would automatically read the other three books because the excitement simply increases as you read!
