This is the story of GuoJing, who lived during the near end days of the Southern Song Empire of China. Born of Chinese descent, GuoJing grew up on the desert savannah of Mongolia learning the arts of combat and warfare. From archery to horseback riding taught to him by his Mongolian teacher, ZheBie, GuoJing also learned martial arts from seven masters who called themselves the Seven Eccentrics of Jiang Nan.
When GuoJing came of age, his teachers took him back to China to let him see his heritage and to gain experience. Thus, GuoJing began his adventures, meeting lots of friends and foes, including the oath brother of his father, a mysterious and mischievous young beggar, and a group of martial arts masters led by the sworn enemy of the Southern Song Empire; the prince of the Jin Empire; whose tragic past is hidden and unknown even to him.
Along the way, GuoJing was taught new skills in combat from the great masters themselves, and there also he met HuangRong, a mischievous and extremely clever girl whose father is also one of the great masters of martial arts. Together, GuoJing and HuangRong traveled the ancient world of China, uncovering and befouling different plots by the Jin Empire against the Beggar’s Sect and the Song Empire. Soon however, a dark secret hidden among the Mongolian tribes which GuoJIng had come to consider as his family was about to be unleashed. Accompanied with his friends, GuoJing would soon be forced to choose his destiny as the fires of war spread throughout the region.
This is the First Part of the Condor Hero Trilogy. The two other books in the trilogy are; the Return of the Condor Heroes ; and the Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber .
