Untill I find you

Book Review by: laura ingalls

Original Author: John Irving
This abstract was translated from Tot ik jou vind
When Jack Burns, the only sun of Alice, gets to the age of 4, his
mother tells him 2 important things she decided on.
De firste
decision is that from next school year, Jack will start at
Saint-Hilda. Not so trange if it wasn't so that Saint-Hilda is an
exclusive school for young girls. De fact that Jacks is a boy,
well lets say Alice thinks this is not important..
De seconds decision is dat she and Jack, will go look for his father,
untill the schoolyear starts. Jacks father is a man who left
Alice behind when she was pregnant. Alice and Jack leave to North
of Europe, since Jacks father is a sailor, they while go look for him
nearby the harbers. Alice makes tattoos for a living and sailors
always want tattoos so they will have money to provide them during
there journey. After a few months Jack and Alice return home,
wothout his father.
Jack goes to school at Saint-Hildas and he meets Emma...
With "Untill I find you" whe have a real John Irving in our
hands. We travell along with Jack and his mother, a few times
they almost find his father, it's easy to follow him since he leaves a
trail of pregnant teenagers behind everywhere he goes.
When Jack starts at Saint-Hilda, he gest real scared. Whe
are following Jack i his life as a child, a teenager and a
man. Jack has his sexual adventures with Emma, they will
stay friends for as long as they life.
I found "Untill I find you" a masterpiece. For those who love the
work of John Irving, you will love this book, and for the ones who
aren't familiar with his work, this is a good book to start with.
