You know it is a good book when only after a few pages you just cannot put it down. Its title A SMALL AND REMARKABLE
LIFE does not give anything away and yet it is exactly what the book is all about. It starts with the night the young alien Tink Puddah was brought to Earth. On the same night Tink’s parents were both tragically killed. At this point, readers may think that the book is about science fiction, about somewhere very foreign and about brutal
murder. Quite the opposite, the story is about us human and happened in America. Through the short life of Tink, we learn the dark side of humanity. Through him we see how simple things bring tremendous joy, how a simple act of good deed bring back life and how greed can end one’s fortune and life. On the day of Tink’s funeral, the local preacher Jacob Piersol thought he could bury both Tink and his failure to convert the alien for good. Quite the opposite, each speech on Tink's funeral not only reminded Jacob of his failure in converting the alien but also how people had been keeping the preacher at a distance. Each passing day after Tink’s death, Jacob thought of Tink day and night. Until Jacob was convinced that Tink was the Savior Lord Jesus Christ. Jacob then realized he had a very important holy task to carry out and must leave the village. It was
Doctor Oberton, Jacob’s old friend, who revealed that Tink was brutally murdered and that he was asked to keep it a secret until the Marshal had arrived. When the doctor’s Jacob told his old friend Doctor Oberton that he was leaving town to fulfill the new mission the Savior Tink Puddah has revealed to him, Doctor Oberton’s concern for Jacob led him to seek help from Bill, the Marshal who was investigating the murder of Tink. Unknown to anybody else Bill had actually met the alien some years ago in another murder inquiry. However someone believed that Tink might still be alive as the alien was no normal human being. Now you understand why you just cannot put the book down until you find it out for yourself
